Bertrand Arthur Patenaude or "Bert" is the American striker credited with the first hat trick in World Cup history. Although Bert pulled his 3-goal feat in 1930 vs. Paraguay, it wasn't until 2006 that FIFA officially credited his achievement. Bert had an incredible club scoring record of 119 in 125 games and 6 goals in only 4 caps for USMNT. We are dedicated to finding the USMNT’s "next Bert" and will provide info here on US eligible players at home and abroad that hope to become the “next Bert”
